Bruce has an enviable reputation within the Australian market and is known for cutting through the technical to provide commercially adjusted advice. He is a Chartered Building Surveyor (MRICS) with over 30 years’ industry experience gained in the UK, New Zealand and Australia and has been actively involved with Technical, Environmental & Property Risk instructions since commencing work in Australia (2001). Before that, Bruce’s experience covered construction methodology, design, repair, maintenance and management (1989-2001).

Bruce jointly built and co-owned SGA Property Consultancy (2003-2014) which grew to a multi-disciplinary staff of 70 across 7 international offices and was then acquired by KPMG Australia. Following the acquisition, Bruce was a Partner with KPMG for 7 years (2014-2021).

Bruce has been involved with almost 4,000 commercial property condition assessments including some of the financially largest and complex commercial property acquisitions in Australian history across all commercial asset classes, as well as the largest and most complicated ‘Make Goods’ in Australia.

Bruce has an ONC in Building Studies, a B.Sc. (Hons) Building Surveying, a Professional Certificate in Applied Property Development and is completing a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance.

Bruce acts as an assessor for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors final Assessment of Professional Competence (APC) and a regular presenter to the Property Council of Australia’s Operations & Facilities Management course on the topic of commercial building inspections.
