Initiatives
1. Inclusive culture
- The PFA continues to build a culture where people are respected, valued and encouraged to contribute to the success of the funds management industry;
- The PFA creates an environment where a diversity of people from different backgrounds, age and gender have access to opportunities and resources and are able to contribute their perspectives to improve the Association and membership value; and
- Creating an inclusive Association will be fundamental to the Associations’ ability to successfully build a diverse Association and improve performance.
2. Gender commitments
- The PFA will work on achieving a significant increase in the number of women in the industry and in senior leadership positions;
- The PFA will establish a program to encourage, promote and engage with women in funds management associated industries; and
- Sponsorship of women from member organisations to attend events and for mentoring will be a priority.
3. Age and ethnicity
- The PFA will continue to work on attracting and retaining members from diverse age groups and ethnic backgrounds; and
- Creation of a networking group and specific events for emerging leaders and member employees.
The Committee members are:
PFA Issues & Regulatory Committee
The Issues and Regulatory Committee is one of the key backbone committees of the Association. The PFA was originally established around a group of individuals representing businesses in the unlisted direct property investment space who did not have a voice with regulators regarding industry reforms. Today the committee continues to play a key role in representing, promoting and protecting the interest of its members, advisors and investors.
The Committee engages in numerous lobbying efforts on proposed policy and legal changes with industry regulators (ASIC, APRA) and other Government organisations including Treasury and the ATO.
It is essential that the Issues and Regulatory Committee acts as a voice for our members, and also regularly updates PFA members on proposed reforms, and the implementation of policy and law changes. Our members need to continually be aware of any potential changes to legislation that could have an impact on their business structure and/or operations.
The committee meets regularly to discuss and consider any new or proposed law reforms or policies that will impact the unlisted property industry. Please contact the Committee Chair if you would like to participate in the committee or you have any questions regarding lobbying on behalf of members.
The Committee members are:
PFA Environment & Sustainability Committee
The PFA Environment & Sustainability Committee has been established to particularly promote the Environmental aspect of ESG. The Social and Governance areas are a focus of the Diversity Committee and the IRC Committee respectively.
The Committee will develop awareness and relevant issues for the membership though the education events and regular PFA communications.
